Fletcher and Galton Named ASC Athletes of the Week
Kellen Fletcher (Wrightstown, NJ) of men's swimming and diving and Mike Galton (Warsaw) from wrestling have been named the Alfred State College Athletes of the Week.
Fletcher earns this honor after winning three races and breaking two pool records in the Alfred State men's swimming and diving tri-meet sweep at Utica College. He placed first and set records in the 100-yard butterfly (54.23) and 100-yard backstroke (54.11) and won the 200-yard IM (2:01.15).
Galton receives this distinction after becoming one of the first conference finalists in program history and earning All-Conference honors at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championship. Galton placed second in the 174 division after winning by a 12-3 major decision in the quarterfinal, won in a fall in the semifinals to become a finalist and battled it out in the final but lost by a 3-1 decision.
