Kate Edgehouse pitched two shutout victories with 16 strikeouts and Georgia Hill hit a blistering .545 with two home runs and 14 RBI to lead The College of Wooster softball team to a 4-4 record during the second half of its spring break trip at Fort Myers, Fla.

Wooster started this eight-game stretch with losses to the College at Brockport (7-2) and the University of Wisconsin-Superior (5-4), but then the Fighting Scots bounced back to win four of their last six games, beginning with the program's most decisive victory in four years – a 15-0 rout of Alfred State College.

The Scots' next two games both went nine innings, with a 7-6 loss coming against SUNY Oneonta and then a thrilling 11-10 comeback win over Rutgers University-Newark. Wooster trailed Rutgers-Newark 9-4 in the sixth inning but rallied back to see Carly Schoenstein deliver a walk-off RBI single that plated Paige Goldberg in the bottom of the ninth.

Next up, Wooster eased past Nichols College with the run rule, 8-0, which was a signature game for both Edgehouse and Hill, as Edgehouse struck out a career-high eight batters and Hill went 2-for-2 with a walk and four runs batted in.

Then on Wednesday, the Scots wrapped up their Florida swing by splitting their last pair, an 8-5 setback to the University of New England and a 4-0 triumph against Clarkson University, with the latter highlighted by a complete game two-hitter from first-year pitcher Rylee Bouillion.

Overall, Edgehouse struck out 16 batters and walked just two over 20.2 innings of work during the second half of the team's trip to improve to 4-4 with a 2.96 ERA on the season. Fellow pitcher, Bouillion, has allowed one earned run or less in seven of eight Florida appearances to lead the new-look staff with a 2.17 ERA.

At the plate, Hill was absolutely dominant, as she went 12-for-22 over the last eight games, with seven extra-base hits (5 doubles, 2 home runs) and nine runs scored.

Others producing strong numbers during that span were Schoenstein, who went 13-for-27 (.481) with nine runs and nine RBI, and Skye Patterson, who overcame her slow start to the season to go 10-for-24 (.417).

Also noteworthy, Demi Hart launched her first home run and added her second triple of the spring, while senior Aundrea Atwell smacked the first triple of her career to drive in a run during Wooster's 8-0 win against Nichols.
