Baseball Alumni Game Set for Homecoming Saturday

Head baseball coach Jason Cronin is encouraging Pioneer baseball alumni to return to campus for an alumni game on September 27th during the college's homecoming weekend. First pitch of the alumni game is slated for 10 a.m.
McDaniel Named to USCAA National All-American Team

Alfred State pitcher Vincent McDaniel (Arkport) has been named to the USCAA National All-American Team. In order to be earn the honor an athlete must have above a 3.5 GPA and have participated in at least two years of college athletics.
Wheaton Named USCAA All-American

Junior shortstop Jordan Wheaton (Wayland Cohocton) has been named a honorable mention USCAA All-American after a solid campaign. Wheaton led the Pioneers in nearly every offensive category.
Pioneers and Panthers Split

Alfred State and Pitt-Bradford split a Thursday afternoon doubleheader at Houghton. The Pioneers won the opener 10-2 while the Panther took the nightcap 14-4.

Alfred State and Houghton split a pair of tight ball games on Tuesday afternoon. Houghton won the opener 8-4 in eight innings while the Pioneers took the nightcap 5-4.

Today's Alfred State baseball doubleheader vs. Houghton College has been moved to Houghton College's turf field due to wet field conditions in Alfred. The Pioneers games are still slated to begin at 2 p.m. and Alfred State will be considered the home team.
Hedges Tosses Shutout, Pioneers Split with Roos

Ryan Hedges (Arkport) tossed a complete game five-hit shutout in a Alfred State 1-0 game one victory over SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon. The Kangaroos bounced back in the nightcap for a 13-3 victory to split the doubleheader and the four-game weekend series.

The Alfred State baseball team scored a season high 19 runs in a 19-3 victory at Houghton College on Thursday. The Pioneers collected three doubles, two triples, and two homers in the victory.

Junior baseball player Ryan Hierlwimmer (Livonia) has been named the Alfred State athlete of the week. Hierlwimmer led the Pioneers offense this past week with a .385 batting average.

Alfred State and Monroe CC split a doubleheader in Rochester on Tuesday. The Pioneers scored two runs in the top of the 7th to win the opener 7-6 but fell 13-4 in the nightcap.
