Garrett Mack (Avon) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Week. Mack is the first Pioneer to earn AMCC honors this season.
Mack tossed a gem as he led the Pioneers to a 3-1 victory over Pitt Bradford. He allowed just three hits and one run (unearned) in a complete game victory. He walked five and struck out 11 on his way to earning the 0.00 ERA. On the year he is 2-1 with a 1.16 ERA in 23.1 innings of work. He has allowed just 16 hits while walking 14 and striking out 21.
Nick Belka of Mount Aloysius was named the AMCC Player of the Week.
Mack and the Pioneers are scheduled to be in action three times this week. They take on Medaille tomorrow (4/2) in a 1 p.m. doubleheader, travel to Elmira on Wednesday (4/3), and then host Penn State Altoona on Saturday (4/7) for another 1 p.m. doubleheader.
