The Alfred State Baseball team dropped today's game to Belhaven 5-4. The Pioneers are now 6-2 on the season.
The Pioneers jumped out to an early lead with a two-run homer from Tim Holler, he has now hit homeruns in back-to-back games. Jack Curabba gave the Pioneers a 3-1 lead with an RBI single.
A four-run 7th inning gave Belhaven the 5-3 lead. A ninth inning homer for Bryson Rigsby cut the lead to one run but the Pioneers couldn't complete the comeback.
Some standouts for the Pioneers include:
Spencer Riehler: Riehler threw 6.2 innings and struck out 4 in a solid performance on the mound.
Devin Mersmann: Mersmann went 2-4 with a double and scored a run.
