The Alfred State Baseball team dropped their game to Washington U. today 9-2. The game stayed close through 8 innings, before the Bears pulled away from Alfred State.
Wash U. pushed across their first run in the third inning, on a first and third double steal. The Bears tacked on another run in the 4th thanks to a homer and in the 5th with an RBI basehit.
With the Pioneers down 3-0, they pushed across 2 runs with consecutive squeeze bunts from Brody Burdett and Gavin Moore. The two runs proved to be all the Pioneers could muster, before the Bears pulled away with a 5-run 8th inning.

Jack Josephson: Josephson was on the mound for the first time this season. He threw 4.1 innings and gave up 4 hits while striking out 3.
Jack Curabba: Curabba went 2-4 from the dish in the DH spot.
Devin Mersmann: Mersmann went 2-3 with a walk on his day.
The Pioneers are playing again tomorrow against Eureka at 12:00 p.m. eastern time. Alfred State won the last match-up two days ago, 6-4.
