Western Equestrian Records Two Solid Shows

The Alfred State Western Equestrian team earned Reserve Hi-Point honors in both the morning and afternoon shows at Saturday's event at the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center at Alfred University. 

The Pioneers had three 1st place finishes in the morning show and five 1st place finishes in the afternoon show. They also had six 2nd place finishes combined on the day.

Rachel von Hagn (Haverling) was 1st in both shows in the Advanced competiton. Jamie Fredenburg (Fabius Pompey) was 1st in the morning and 2nd in the afternoon in Intermediate competition while Kirstin Reynolds (Portville) accomplished the same at the Novice level. Caylen Bedow (Fillmore), Jessica Bongard (Webster Thomas), Meagan Castroro (Syosset), and Brianna Lasecki (Newark) all took 1st place honors in the afternoon show.

Alyssa Beardsley (Letchworth) and Hannah Schaus (Arcade) had strong enough performances to qualify for the regional competition. Beardsley was 6th in Advanced competition in the morning show and 4th in the afternoon  while Hannah Schaus (Arcade) was 2nd in Intermediate competition in the morning and 4th in the afternoon.

The Pioneers are back in action on February 10th back at Alfred University.
