Lauretti Adds ECAC Honor

The honors continue to roll in for junior defensive end John Lauretti (Seaford). Today, Lauretti was named the ECAC North Division III Defensive Player of the Week.

Lauretti had a monster day to lead the Pioneer defense over the weekend in their contest at the University of Rochester. He recorded 13 total tackles, including 11 solo stops. Nine of his tackles came in the 1st half. He also recorded a sack for a loss of 18 yards, compiled two tackles for a loss for a total of 20 yards and forced a fumble.

Earlier this week, Lauretti was named the ECFC Defensive Player of the Week and the Garcia's Top Cut Athlete of the Week. He is also a candidate for Hero Sports Defensive Player of the Week - vote for him until Friday at: https://herosports.com/d3-football/hero-of-the-week-3-2017-cbcb

Jayden Gavidia (Alfred University) was named the North Offensive Player of the Week, Christian Humulock (Springfield) was named the Special Teams Player of the Week, and Wahid Nabi was named the Rookie of the Week.

Lauretti is the first Pioneer student-athlete to earn an honor from the ECAC during the 2017-18 school year.
