Pioneers Fall in Road Finale

Husson improved to 8-1 (6-0 ECFC) with a 63-0 victory over Alfred State as the Pioneers wrapped up the road portion of their season.

The Eagles scored four touchdowns in each of the first quarters to take full control of the game. Husson accumulated 491 yards on offense, scored on an interception return, and on a punt return.

John Smith led Husson with 143 yards and three scores on 15 carries while Cory Brandon was 10 for 14 for 162 yards and two scores. Quan Soyini scored on a 53-yard punt return and Luke Washburn scored on a 17-yard interception return.

Willerm Greffin (Brooklyn/South Shore) was the top Pioneer on offense finishing with four catches for 25 yards.

Dashown Wilson (Bronx/DeWitt Clinton) led the defense with eight tackles while Austin Parker (Port Byron), Owen Davis (Lansing), and Justin Espinal (Beacon) all had seven tackles.

The Pioneers close out the 2017 season next Saturday when they host Castleton State at 1 p.m. Prior to the game the team will honor their senior class and hold a special Veteran's Day ceremony.
