Zimmerman Repeats as ECFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Senior safety/kicker Michael Zimmerman (Canandaigua) has been named the ECFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Zimmerman was key in the field position battle as Alfred State defeated Rochester 27-21 on Saturday.

He punted five times for 235 total yards. Four of his punts were inside the 20 as he averaged 47 yards per punt. His long for the day was 55 yards. He was also 3 for 4 on extra points and chipped in two tackles (one solo) defensively.

Anna Maria's Alex Cohen took home Offensive Player of the Week while Castleton University teammates Ethan Palazzetti (South Kingstown, R.I.) and Devin Wollner (Keyport, N.J.) received Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.

Zimmerman and the Pioneers head to Brockport on Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff with the Golden Eagles.
