Lewis and Toliver Earn All-ACAA 1st Team Honors
Alfred State seniors Tahaij Lewis (Rochester/Greece Olympia) and Juwan Toliver (Buffalo/McKinley) have earned All-ACAA 1st team honors.
Lewis led the Pioneers with 431 points (16.6 ppg), 274 rebounds (10.5 rpg), and 43 blocks. He scored in double figures in 22 of the 26 games he played in including the final 13 games of the season. He scored more than 20 in nine games including a season high 42 versus Nazareth on January 18th. In 15 games he pulled down 10 or more rebounds and he finished the season with 14 double-doubles (12 coming in the team's final 13 contests). Lewis shot 58.3% (168 for 288) from the field and 69.9% (95 for 136) from the foul line on the year.
During his two year career at Alfred State, Lewis finishes with 624 points and 393 boards in 51 games.
Toliver, the ACAA Player of the Year last year and a 1st team All-ACAA selection, capped his stellar career with another all-around solid season. He scored 252 points (11 ppg), passed out 110 assists (4.8 apg), and grabbed 126 rebounds (5.5 rpg). He shot 48% from the floor (96 for 200), 67.9% from the foul line (57 for 84) and led the team with 49 steals. He scored in double figures in 15 of his 23 games this year, had three games in which he grabbed 10 or more rebounds, and passed out six or more assists in 10 games. He had a season high 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists vs. Hilbert. He passed out a season high 11 assists vs. SUNY ESF and had a season best ten boards vs. D'Youville. On the year had a pair of double-doubles (points-rebounds).
Toliver finishes his four-year career at Alfred State with 735 points, 434 assists, 344 assists, and 165 steals in 83 games.
The Pioneers finished the season with a 15-12 record and were the ACAA Tournament runner-up after a tight two-point loss in the conference championship game.
