Pioneers Can't Slow Down Mavericks

Medaille shot 52.1% from the field as they were able to defeat Alfred State 101-76 on Wednesday night. Five different Mavericks finished in double figures.

The Mavericks scored the first six points and of the game and led 11-4 early. The Pioneers never could fully recover. They trailed 46-38 at the half.

Ryan Gentile (Spencerport) led the blue & gold with 24 points (10 for 21 shooting). He also grabbed five boards and had three steals. Josh Reding (Spencerport) added eight points, six boards, and five assists, Markel Jenkins (Elmira) finished with nine, and Paris Jamison (Brooklyn/East Side Community) came off the bench and had eight. The Pioneers bench outscored the Mavs 32 to 14.

Rodney Graves led Medaille with 24 while Kendall McGill finished with 23. Jonathan Smith finished with 17, Brandon Roach had 13, and Brock Kroening chipped in 10. Medaille was 37 for 71 from the field and connected on 15 of 35 three-point attempts.

The Pioneers return home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with Pitt Greensburg.
