Pioneers Wrap up Homestand with Victory over Bradford

Alfred State led the whole way as they defeated Pitt Bradford 68-60 on Wednesday evening to cap their three game homestand. 

The Pioneers shot 46.9% from the field and led by as many as 15 with 7:30 left in the half. They went into the half with a 40-28 advantage. The Panthers did not go away in the 2nd half and cut the lead to 60-56 with just over five minutes left in the contest. The blue & gold finished the game on a 8-4 run to close out the win.

Josh Reding (Spencerport) led the team with a 14 point, nine assist, and six rebound performance. Tavion Williams (Bronx/FDA) finished with 13 points off the bench, Paris Jamison (Brooklyn/East Side Community) finished with 12, and Ryan Gentile (Spencerport) got in double-figures with 11. Brandon Gosley (Valley Stream South) led the team with 11 boards.

Dylan Meyer had a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards while Nick Carmichael finished with 13. Daniel Lynch chipped in 10 for the Panthers.

Alfred State was 24 for 56 from the field for the game and 15 for 23 from the line while UPB was 24 for 71 from the field and 5 for 7 from the line. Alfred State held a slight 45 to 40 advantage on the boards.

The Pioneers have a week off before heading to Hilbert next Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with the Hawks.
