Lacrosse Tripped up by Del Tech

Delaware Tech used a solid first five minutes of the 2nd half to add to their 9-5 halftime lead en route to a 21-12 victory over Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon.  The game was the third in four days for the blue & gold.

Del Tech led 3-2 after the 1st quarter and led 9-5 at halftime. The Hawks came out fast in the 2nd half and scored five unanswered goals in the first five minutes of the half to put the game out of reach.

Nate Spoor (Penn Yan) led the offense with four goals and an assist.  Brandon Griffin (Corning East) had two goals and two assists while Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) and Dave Ford (Elmont/Sewanhaka) each had two goals and an assist.  Frank Martin (Whitney Point) and Bradley Murdoch (Auburn) had a goal and an assist.  Michael Maranga (Rockaway/St. Edmund) was credited with an assist.

Mike Alessi (Liverpool) made 20 saves for the Pioneers (1-3) in net.

The Pioneers do not play again until March 27th when they travel to Genesee CC for a 7 p.m. start.
