Lacrosse Announces 2018 Schedule

The Alfred State lacrosse team will look to contend for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) title again as they begin preseason practice for the 2018 season.  The 2018 schedule features 15 regular season contests.

After a pair of scrimmages (Mercyhurst North East & Alfred University), the Pioneers will open up the season with a home match vs. Keuka on February 24th. The Pioneers and Wolves will be battling on opening day for the third straight year.

The next week the Pioneers have a pair of matches. They hit the road for the first time on February 28th when they take on Wells before returning home on that Saturday to host Hiram (3/3). A pair of roadtrips follow with trips to Cazenovia (3/6) and Farmingdale (3/12) before the team hosts SUNY Poly (3/18) at the end of the college's spring break.

AMCC play begins the next week as the blue & gold travel to Hilbert (3/21) and Medaille (3/24). The following week, the Pioneers host a pair of matches, Utica (4/4) and Franciscan (4/7).

After a week off the team travels to Franklin, MA for the Bulldog Classic at Dean College. The Pioneers will take on SUNY Delhi in the opening round and will play either SUNY Canton or Dean College the next day.

The regular season comes to a close with a road trip to SUNY Canton (4/21) before two home games, Houghton (4/25) and LaRoche (4/28).

The AMCC Showcase semifinals are slated to be played May 2nd and the finals are set for May 6th. Both games will will be played at the highest seed remaining.

The 2017 Pioneers finished the season with an 8-10 record, won the USCAA Classic, and finished as the runner-up at the AMCC Showcase.
