Matt Cobb Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

Cobb Nabs Second AMCC Honor

Alfred State goalie Matt Cobb (Churchville) has been named the AMCC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time during the 2018 season.

Cobb made 21 saves in the Pioneers 9-6 victory over Hilbert on Saturday. The contest was a rematch of the 2017 AMCC Showcase Finals. Cobb held the Hawks scoreless for nearly 42 minutes to start the game. 14 of his 21 saves came in the 2nd half and six of them came in the 4th quarter when Hilbert was trying to make a comeback.

On the year, Cobb has 92 saves and a .579 save percentage in nearly 393 minutes of play.

Tyler Fales from Medaille was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week.
