Fredonia shutout Alfred State 5-0 on day one of the Blue Devil Classic. The Blue Devils scored two early goals and never looked back.
Parker Healy scored in the 9th minute and Dave Trabold scored just under two minutes later to give Fredonia the early lead. Ryan Ross scored in the 60th minute, Matt Belardi netted a score in the 64th minute, Healy scored his second of the game to cap the scoring in the 72nd minute. Healy finished with a pair of goals and an assist as the Blue Devils improve to 3-0.
The Pioneers were outshot 20 to 13 (9 to 5 shots on goal).
The blue & gold continue play in Fredonia tomorrow when they tangle with Buffalo State. Opening kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
