Senyah Scores a Pair at Delhi

Albert Senyah (Long Island/Central Islip) scored a pair of goals on Sunday but the Alfred State men's soccer team fell 6-3 to SUNY Delhi in their first road contest of the 2018 season.

Alhansane Sako scored in the 5th minute to give the Broncos an early lead. Senyah scored his first of the game nearly nine minutes later after getting a pass from Justus Hoffmann (Hamburg). Sako scored with just 2:36 left in the 1st half to make it 2-1 Delhi at the break.

Carlos Del Monte made it a 3-1 lead in the 62nd minute but the Pioneers got it back to a one goal game 1:34 later when they scored on an own goal. Just under three minutes later, Delhi started a run of three goals in seven minutes to put the game out of reach. Juan Velez scored twice and Brody Rettle netted his first of the night. Senyah netted his second of the game in the 76th minute after getting a pass from Nathan Adamec (Lancaster).

Delhi held a 18 to 15 shot advantage in the contest. Marcos Andrino made seven saves in net to earn the victory for the Broncos (2-0).

The Pioneers head to Bethany (WV) next weekend for a pair of games. They take on Franciscan (OH) on Saturday and Bethany on Sunday with both games slated for 2:30 p.m. starts.
