Pioneers Chop Down Mighty Oaks

The Alfred State men's soccer team scored a pair of 2nd half goals as they defeated SUNY ESF 2-0 to cap Homecoming Saturday action. 

After nearly 70 minutes of scoreless action, Alfred State was awarded a penalty kick and Albert Senyah (Long Island/Central Islip) delivered with his team leading 5th goal of the season. Senyah was also key in the Pioneers second goal of the game. With 9:27 remaining he slipped a pass to Maliq Burton (Sodus) who found the back of the net with his first career goal. 

Alfred State held a 9 to 7 shot advantage in the game. Nico Coria (Honeoye Falls Lima) recorded his first career shutout in net by making two saves. The combination of Carmine Tronolone and Luke Paterson made three saves for the Mighty Oaks (4-4).

The Pioneers travel to Nazareth on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with the Flyers.
