Alfred State Explosive 2nd Half Leads to Win

Alfred State Men's Soccer won today against LaRoche in a conference match 6-0. After going into halftime 0-0, the Pioneer offense erupted for six goals in the second half.

The LaRoche goalkeeper, Casey Hulbert had 9 saves in the match. He had a shutout first half, saving six Pioneer shots and keeping the Redhawks in the game through 45 minutes.

Right out of the half, Nuri Sarbudak (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Mendon ) knocked in his 12 goal of the year in the 48 minute. In the 52 minute, Will Bowen (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherland) followed with his second goal of the year. Jake Mills (Bel Air, M.D. / Loyola Blakefield) scored to make it 3-0 in the 67 minute. The two straight goals from Pioneer defensive backs proved that the Pioneer offense was firing on all cylinders.

Hunter Hollock (Tonawanda, N.Y. / Tonawanda) was one of the four seniors honored in the Pioneers last home match. Today he scored two straight goals, to make the game 5-0. Farhan Abdi (Rochester, N.Y. / School of the Arts) scored the last goal of the match for Alfred State.

The Pioneers are back in action on October 25, as they travel to Hilbert for their last regular season match.
