2018-19 All-AMCC Swimming and Diving Teams revealed

Miller and Dale Lead All-AMCC Selections

Austin Miller (Hornell) and Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) lead the Alfred State men's swimming & diving honorees on the 2018-19 All-AMCC Team. The Pioneers finished 2nd at last week's AMCC Championships. It was the second time in the last three years that the men have finished as AMCC Runner-Ups.

Miller was named AMCC Diver of the Year after impressive peformances on both the 1m and 3m boards. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Regionals (March 1-2 at RIT) by winning the 1m with a score of 440.80 and the 3m with a score of 484.45. This is the third straight year that a Pioneer diver has claimed the Diver of the Year Awards (Nick Beach - current diving coach - won the award in 2017 & 2018).

Dale defended his title in the 400 IM. He won the event in 4:17.62 which was an improvement of 1.82 seconds from his best time on the year.

The 200 free relay, the 200 medley relay, and the 400 free relay all swam to 2nd team honors

  • Ryan McDowell (Gananda), Nate Miller (Gananda), Tim Olin (Perry), and Ryan Brophy (Midlakes) earned 2nd in the 200 free relay in 1:31.80.
  • Olin, Dale, Miller, and Aaron Priel (Pioneer) swam the 200 medley relay in 1:41.66 to earn 2nd.
  • Olin, McDowell, Miller, and Dale combined in the 400 free relay to swim a 3:21.70 to earn 2nd.

Mark Patterson (Penn State Behrend) was named the Swimmer of the Year, Chase Bietz (Penn State Behrend) was named Newomcomer of the Year, and Jen Wallace (Penn State Behrend) was named Coach of the Year.
