Pioneers Win in Home Meet- Compton Qualifies for NCAA

The Alfred State Men's Swimming and Diving team won today's conference match against Penn.- St. Altoona 220-70.

Conor Compton (Rexford, NY / Niskayuna) for the second week in a row set the Alfred State records for the 1 and 3-meter dives. This week breaking his own record in both events, also notches him his second NCAA qualifying score and has officially qualified for the NCAA regionals. His 1M dive score was 319.05 beating the record he set last week. Compton's 3M dive score was 354.75, also beating last week's record.

Westin Perry (Hartsville, NY / Canisteo Greenwood) was another standout in today's meet, placing first in two individual events and first in two relay events. He won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.86. Perry also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.49. Perry was a part of the 200-yard medley relay, as the team had a winning time of 1:54.78. The other three members of the medley were Stuart Yates (Naples, NY / Naples), Kellen Fletcher (Wrightstown, NJ / Northern Burlington), and Luca Aldewereld (Cleveland, OH / N. Royalton).

The Pioneers are back in action on Thursday, November 17 as they compete in the three-day Oberlin Invitational.
