Compton, Pioneers Dominant At Hartwick
The Pioneers Men's Swimming and Diving team won today's meet against Hartwick 198-102.
The team of Westin Perry (Hartsville, NY / Canisteo Greenwood), Stuart Yates (Naples, NY / Naples), Kellen Fletcher (Wrightstown, NJ / Northern Burlington), and Luca Aldewereld (Cleveland, OH / N. Royalton) started the day with a win in the 200 medley relay. Avenn Toledo (San Diego, CA / San Marcos) won the 1000 free by six seconds with a time of 10:28.93. Jazz Widney (Tulsa, OK / Jenks) won the 200 free with a time of 1:49.27. Perry also won the 100 backstroke, with a time of 54.25. He also won the 500 free with a time of 4:57.86. Stuart Yates won the 100 and 200 breaststroke events with a time of 1:02.78, besting the second-place finisher by less than two seconds in the 100. Luca Aldewereld won the 100 free with a time of 48.91, besting the competition by half a second.
Conor Compton (Rexford, NY / Niskayuna) was dominant again, with a win in the 1m and 3m diving events. Compton scored 268.15 in the 1m and 305.20 in the 3m dives.
Alfred State hits the road to Brockport for a tri-meet against Fredonia and Brockport on January 28.
