Bathgate and Perlino lead Pioneers at Geneseo

Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) and Dylan Perlino (Holland) led the way as the Alfred State men's track & field team competed at the Geneseo It's Gonna Be May Meet on Saturday. The Pioneers finished the day with 13 top-eight finishers.

Bathgate won the 5000 in 16:09.69 to lead the Pioneers while Perlino was 2nd in the discus with a toss of 44.94 m. and was 4th in the hammer (46.30 m).

Nathan Chambers (East Rochester) was 3rd in the hammer throw (47.87 m) and was 8th in the discus (32.53 m) while Derek Walter (Lancaster) was 4th in the javelin (38.48 m) and 7th in the 110 hurdles (17.09).

Cooper Buckley (Wellsville) was 4th in the steeplechase (10:30.97), Shawn Rosa (Middletown) was 6th in the 400 (51.48), Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East) was 6th in the long jump (6.61 m), Edward Scroxton (Lakewood/Southwestern) was 7th in the 1500 (4:11.66), Davyn Gulbrandsen (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) was 8th in the 400 hurdles (1:06.71), and Jamison Pomroy was 8th in the hammer (29.85 m)

The blue & gold head to Keystone College next Saturday (4/8) to compete in the CSAC Championships.
