Perlino Earns All-American Honors in Discus; Places Fifth

Dylan Perlino competed today in the discus throw at the NCAA national championships. Perlino placed fifth overall and earned NCAA All-American honors. He is the first Alfred State Track and Field Student-Athlete to be named an All-American in the program's NCAA history. Perlino is the second All-American in Alfred State Athletics history, Conor Compton earned the honors in dives this past season.

Perlino's best throw came in his 2nd attempt in the championship round. His 51.20m attempt moved him from 9th place to 5th, earning Perlino the All-American Honor.

After a foul and a 47.16m throw, Perlino's last throw in the first flight was his last chance to make the final.  Perlino's final throw was 49.30m, landing him in 9th place and earning him a spot in the championship.

This is the second time Dylan Perlino has qualified for the NCAA National Championship, this time he earned the All-American title.
