Dr. Charles Infurna began his first year as throwing coach at Alfred State in the fall of 2020.

Before joining Alfred State, Infurna was the throwing coach at Nazareth College. While at Nazareth, his athletes broke school records in the men’s and women’s weight throw, hammer, discus, and shot-put. Most notably, he guided Luis Rivera in winning the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor weight throw national championship. 

Infurna began his coaching career at SUNY Fredonia. While there his athletes broke the women’s weight throw, discus, shot-put, and hammer records. 

Dr. Infurna earned his doctorate in 2017, as a graduate of the DEXL Executive Leadership program at St. John Fisher College.
