Men's Cross Country Finishes 2nd at Alfred University

The Alfred State men's cross country team had a strong showing as they drove up the street to compete at the Alfred University Invitational. The Pionees scored a 44 and earned 2nd place in the meet.

Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester) led the way for the second straight week by finishing the 8k course in 28:21.56 to earn 3rd place overall. Austin Miller (Hornell) was 7th in 30:44.77), Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) was 8th (30:50.04), and Matt Connolly (Elmira Notre Dame) was 9th (30:54.97). Stephen Murphy (East Aurora) rounded out the top five finishers for the team with a 17th place finish (31:59.98).

Hobart won the team title (23) followed by Alfred State and Alfred University (59).

The Pioneers head to Penn State Behrend on Friday evening in a preview of the AMCC Championship course.
