Bathgate Leads Pioneers at NCAA Regionals

Gavin Bathgate (East Rochester, NY / East Rochester) led the Alfred State men's cross country team as they competed at the NCAA Niagara Regional on Saturday. 172 runners competed on the 8k course hosted by the University of Rochester.

Bathgate capped his career with a 23rd place finish. He crossed the finish line in 26:16.0. Andrew Hvisdak (Orchard Park, NY/Hamburg) was 124th (29:26.9), Maxwell Chiarella (Niagara Falls, NY/ Niagara Falls) was 146th (30:44.7), Kyle Brown (Dryden, NY/ Dryden) was 150th (31:02.3), and Carter Riley (Tupper Lake, NY/  Tupper Lake) was 152nd (31:24.0).

Geneseo won the men's team title with 41 points followed by Brockport (77), NYU (114), and the University of Rochester (149). Alfred State was 18th out of 22 teams that scored in the event.
