Finger Lakes Community College
The Alfred State softball team split a pair at the Snowbird Softball Tournament on Tuesday. They fell 12-3 to Brookdale (NJ) CC in the opener but bounced back for a 6-4 victory over Finger Lakes CC.
In the opener, Brookdale scored in every inning. They collected 13 hits and took advantage of five Lady Pioneer errors. Aubri Mosier (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) was 1 for 2 with a 2-RBI double in the 3rd.
Versus FLCC, the Lady Pioneers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back. Kristen Potter (Harrison Valley, PA) was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI while Mosier was 2 for 3 with a RBI. Lynn Wood (Westfield) was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and Brooke Gustin (Wellsville) drove in two.
Clarissa Swain (Dansville) earned the on the mound scattering eight hits in a complete game effort. She walked two and struck out four to earn her 2nd win on the spring season.
The Lady Pioneers (2-6, 1-1 Region III Division III) continue their trip on Wednesday with a 9 a.m. contest Mercer County CC and a 11 a.m. game vs. Mohawk Valley CC.
