Lady Pioneers Tripped up Twice at Snowbird Softball

The Alfred State softball team fell 10-2 to Mercer (NJ) CC and 9-4 to Mohawk Valley CC on day three of play at the Snowbird Softball Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC.
In the opener, Mercer scored four in the 2nd and three more in the 3rd to put a strangle hold on the game. Aubri Mosier (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) was 2 for 3 with a RBI while Stephanie Pierce (Sherman) was 1 for 2 with a RBI.
Versus Mohawk Valley in game two, the Hawks used a three run 4th and a two run 5th to expand on their 3-1 lead. Mosier led the offense with a 2 for 4, 2 RBI game while Brooke Gustin (Wellsville) and Katie Jackson (Troy, PA/Troy) were each 2 for 4.
The Lady Pioneers wrap up play in Myrtle on Thursday when they take on Region III foes. The open up vs. Herkimer CCC at 9 a.m. and then battle Finger Lakes CC at 11 a.m.
