Geneseo limited Alfred State to just five hits as they earned 8-0 and 3-0 victories on Monday afternoon. The Knights improve to 12-9 on the year.
In the opener the Lady Pioneers scored two in the 1st, single runs in the 2nd and 3rd, and then put the game out of reach with four in the 5th. Aubri Mosier (Rome, PA) doubled to account for one of the Lady Pioneers three hits.
Kaleigh Blersch was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI while Claire Vannewkirk drove in four.
Taylor McCarthy (Watkins Glen) allowed just four hits and one earned run in game two but was the hard luck loser. Geneseo scored a run in the 2nd and added two unearned runs in the 6th. Abby Dennett drove in two of Geneseo's runs.
The Lady Pioneers are slated to play again on Saturday when they open up a four-game series vs. SUNY Canton.
