Stormi Kruger (Medina), Lura O'Keefe (Allegany Limestone), and Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central) had big offensive days vs. Medaille on Monday. The Mavericks picked up 28-12 and 17-11 victories to improve to 16-12 on the year.
In the opener, Medaille used a huge 2nd inning to erase a 8-6 Lady Pioneers lead. The Mavericks collected 22 hits in the victory.
Kruger was the lone Lady Pioneer with multiple hits finishing 2 for 3 with a RBI. Barber was 1 for 3 with 4 RBI including a two-run triple.
Medaille scored in every inning of the nightcap. A five-run 2nd inning and a six-run 3rd inning pushed the Mavericks lead to 12-6.
O'Keefe finished 3 for 3 with 5 RBI, Kruger was 2 for 4 with a RBI, and Barber was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.
The trio that hit 4,5,6 in the Lady Pioneers line-up finished the doubleheader 11 for 19 with 14 RBI.
The Lady Pioneers play their final road games of the 2016 season on Tuesday when they travel to Houghton for a 5 p.m. doubleheader.
