Trio of Lady Pioneers Named to the USCAA National All-AcademicTeam

A trio of Alfred State softball players, Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central), Jordan Leonard (Lancaster), and Zoe Derr (Elmira Heights/Thomas Edison), have been named to the USCAA National All-Academic team.

  • Barber, a sophomore catcher, is a land surveying/geomatics major with a 3.85 GPA
  • Leonard, a sohopmer pitcher, is a nursing major with a 3.53 GPA
  • Derr, a junior outfielder, is a forensic science major with a 3.67 GPA

Steffanie Preston (Groton), a senior catcher, was honored by the USCAA with All-Academic honors earlier in the school year. Preston has a 3.9 GPA in forensic science. 

Student-athletes earn All-Academic honors by being an upperclassmen who has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher over the course of their academic career.
