Swimmers Compete at Jamestown
The Alfred State swim team competed vs. Jamestown CC and Mercyhurst North East on Wednesday evening.
Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton) won the 200 IM (2:22.96) and the 100 free (57.01)Mark Pendleton (Beacon) won the 200 free (2:01.54) and was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:14.13), Jake Drew (Victor) won the 100 back (1:08.82) was 3rd in the 50 free (27.80)Tyler Easterbrook (Bath) was 2nd in the 500 free (5:46.77) and 3rd in the 200 free (2:07.45).
The male quartet also finished 1st in the 200 medley relay (1:56.65) and 2nd in the 200 free relay (1:44.53).
Maggie McBurney (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) won the 200 IM (3:03.93) and the 100 back (1:25.71). She was also 2nd in the 200 free (2:41.13).
The men defeated Mercyhurst North East 84-13 but fell 84-66 to Jamestown. Jamestown defeated the women 89-27 while Mercyhurst defeated Alfred 62-22.
Alfred returns to Jamestown on Saturday to compete in the Jayhawk Invitational starting at 1 p.m.
