Men 2nd, Women 3rd after Day 2 of AMCC Championships

The Alfred State men's swimming team sits in 2nd while the women are 3rd after Day 2 of the AMCC Championships at Penn State Behrend. The men have scored 157 points while the women have scored 142.

Ethan Dale (Lock Haven) had the best individual performance on the men's side with a 4th place finish in the 200 IM (2:02.23). Teammate Ryan McDowell (Ganada) was 9th (2:06.36) in the same event.

In the 50 free, Nathan Ciciera (Lake Shore) was 6th (22.98) while Tim Olin (Perry) was 7th (22.88), and Kyle Sporysz (Cuba Rushford) was 11th (23.19). Mason Sparks (Royalton Hartland) was 10th in the 500 free (5:21.24).

The men's 200 free relay team of Ciciera, Sparks, Olin, and Sporysz was 4th in 1:31.30 while the 400 medley relay team of Olin, Dale, Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ), and Sporysz finished 5th in 3:44.96.

On the diving board, the Pioneer men took 1st, 3rd, and 4th in the 3m competition. Nick Beach (Canandaigua) won with 211.05 points. Tim Berry (Midlakes) was 3rd with 190.80 while Jackson Teboe (Falconer) was 4th with 181.85.

Alley Sell (Hanover, PA) recorded the best individual finish with a 2nd place finish in the 200 IM (2:15.75). Kaileigh Lehman (Beaver River) was 6th in the 50 free (26.89)

The 200 free relay team of Sell, Myriah Perry (Canisteo Greenwood), Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), and Lehman finished in 4th in 1:46.89 while the 400 medley relay team of Perry, Sell, Sarah Stevens (Wellsville), and Lehman were 4th in 4:23.42.

The Pioneers took the top three spots in the 1 m diving competition. Sarah Stevens won with 188.35 points, Rebecca Stevens (Wellsville) was 2nd (170.65), and De'Anna Buckley (Haverling) was 3rd (165.95).

The AMCC Championships continue on Friday with consolation action at 10 a.m., diving at 1 p.m., and finals at 6 p.m.
