Pioneers Wrap up Fredonia Invitational

The Alfred State swimming and diving team finished up action at the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational on Sunday. Both the Pioneer men and women finished 8th overall in the three-day event.

Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) was 8th in the 200 breast (2:18.30) to pace the men. In the 1650, Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) was 12th (18:37.39) while Patrick McFadden (Midlakes) was 15th in 19:23.08. Nathan Miller (Gananda) was 15th in the 200 fly (2:22.46).

The 400 free relay team of Ethan Tatro (Lockport), Miller, Tim Olin (Perry), and Nathan Ciciera (Derby/Lake Shore) was 14th in 3:28.83.

The Pioneer women took 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th in the 200 fly. Sarah Stevens was 11th (2:39.48), Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) was 12th (2:55.74), Elizabeth Jurs (Elba) was 13th (2:57.18), Hannah Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) was 14th (2:59.51).

Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) was 12th in the 1650 free (20:02.89) while Samantha Towner (Wayland Cohocton) was 16th in the 1650 free (21:25.06). Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River) was 14th in the 200 breast (2:46.41)

The 400 free relay team of Stevens, Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), Lehman, and Lewis finished 13th in 3:55.14

The Pioneer men finished with 285 points just behind Baldwin Wallace's 299. Penn State Behrend took the men's team title. The women's team scored 209 points during the three day competition as John Carroll took the team title.

Next up for the Pioneers is a meet in Coral Springs, FL on January 6th.
