Pioneers Remain in 3rd after Day 3

The Alfred State men's and women's swimming and diving teams sit in 3rd place after day three of the AMCC Championships. The women have scored 333 points while the men have 270 points.

Nick Beach (Canandaigua) completed the diving sweep by winning the 1 m competition. He scored 432 total points to claim his fourth individual title in the past two years. Austin Miller (Hornell) was 2nd with a score of 426.5 and Jackson Teboe (Falconer) was 4th with 366.70 points.

Ethan Dale (Lock Haven) had a big day with a victory in the 400 IM and a 4th place finish in the 100 breast. He won the 40 IM in 4:19.44 - almost three seconds quicker than his preliminary time. In the 100 breast he finished in in 1:00.99. Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) was 4th in the 400 IM (4:31.44), Nathan Miller (Gananda) was 5th in the 100 fly (55.47), and Tyler La Flamm (Mexico) was 5th in the 100 back (57.12).

On the women's side, Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River) was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:13.12), Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) was 3rd in the 400 IM (5:07.26), Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) was 4th in the 200 free (2:03.26), and Lauren Earley (Waterford/Shenendehowa) was 4th in the 100 back (1:04.83). Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) was 5th in the 100 fly (1;05.93) and Kelsey Lynch (Wellsville) was 6th in the 400 IM (5:40.61).

In the 200 medley relay the team of Earley, Lehman, Stevens, and Lewis finsihed 3rd in 1:59.17.

Penn State Behrend leads the men's standings with 519 points. Cabrini has 282 while Pitt Bradford and Alfred State have 270. Altoona is 5th with 122.

Cabrini leads the women's standings with 382 points followed by Penn State Behrend with 378. The Pioneers have 333, Penn State Altoona as 130, Franciscan has 110, and Pitt-Bradford has 106.

The final day of competition starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Diving starts at 1 p.m. and the finals begins at 6 p.m.
