Women 3rd, Men 4th at AMCC Championships

The Alfred State women's swimming and diving team finished 3rd at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships while the men's team earned 4th place. The women scored 512 points over the four-day event while the men scored 395.

Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) completed the sweep on the diving board by winning the 3m competition with a score of 368.45. She was also part of the 2nd place 400 free relay team that finished in 3:50.12. She teamed with Elizabeth Drake (Lansing), Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River), and Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) in the meet ending relay.

Lewis finished 2nd in the 1650 free in 19:26.82, Lehman was 4th in the 200 breast in 2:46.12, and Drake was 5th in the 100 free in 57.61. In the 200 fly, Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) was 4th (2:41.64), Kelsey Lynch (Wellsville) was 5th (2:44.02), and Hannah Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) was 6th in 3:03.45 while in the 200 back, Armstrong was 5th (2:27.82) and Megan Hendershot (Brockport) was 6th (2:34.08).

On the men's side, Tyler La Flamm (Mexico) was 5th in the 200 back (2:08.15), Anthony Kahwaty (Jefferson Township, NJ) was 6th in the 200 breast (2:22.15), and Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) was 6th in the 200 fly (2:08.19). 

The 400 free relay team of La Flamm, Ethan Tatro (Lockport), Mason Sparks (Lockport/Royalton Hartland), and Nate Ciciera (Derby/Lake Shore) finished in 4th in 3:23.56.

Cabrini took home the women's AMCC title with 545 points followed by Penn State Behrend (517.5) and Alfred State (512). Penn State Altoona (184.5), Franciscan (171), and Pitt Bradford (148) rounded out the standings.

Behrend ran away with the men's title with 744 points followed by Pitt Bradford (404), Cabrini (395), Alfred State (358), and Penn State Altoona (166).
