Pioneers Compete at Edinboro

The Alfred State indoor track & field team put together several impressive performances vs. NCAA DII competition at the Al Hall Freedom Games at Edinboro University.

Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls) won the pentathlon with 1,558 points. Her top scoring event was the high jump where she scored 460 points for a leap of 1.35 m.

Sophie Gonzalez finished 4th in the 200 m dash (27.22) and 5th in the 60 m dash (8.35) while Cassidy McCourt (Buffalo/Emerson) was 7th in the 400 (1:09.67)

On the men's side, Paul Kemsley (Lancaster) was 2nd in the weight throw (16.08 m) and 3rd in the shot put (14.28 m) while teammate Anders Presthus (Lansing) was 4th in the weight throw (14.30 m) and 5th in the shot put (12.30 m).

Zach Curran (Williamson) was 3rd in the pole vault (4.25 m) while Tim Berry (Midlakes) was 5th (3.65 m). Caleb Boyce-Wright (Cheektowaga/John Kennedy) was 4th in the 800 (2:12.15), Spencer Stokes (Penfield) was 4th in the high jump (1.55 m), and Jesse Hallett (Honeoye) was 5th in the 3,000 (10:24.82). Joe Richardson was 5th in the triple jump (11.79 m) and 7th in the long jump (5.92 m), Ryan Lohr (West Seneca) was 7th in the 1 mile (4:57.69), and Jhamel Cohen (Brooklyn/South Shore) was 8th in the 60 m dash (7.60).

The blue & gold are back in action on Friday when they travel to RIT.
