Lady Pioneers Tripped up in OT

The Alfred State women's basketball team was tripped up in overtime, 57-54, by Sullivan County CC in the opening round of the Onondaga CC Classic. The Lady Pioneers are now 8-3 on the year and will take on Ithaca College JV at 11:45 a.m. in the tournament consolation game.
Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) recorded her 7th straight double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. She also had four blocked shots and three steals. The Lady Pioneers had the lead prior to her fouling out with four minutes to go.
Briana Meehan (Whitesville) and Jen Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) each had ten points.
The Lady Pioneers were slowed down by 30 turnovers and shot just 27% from the foul line. The game was tied at 50-50 after regulation.
Sunday's game will be the final game of the 2012 portion of the season for the Lady Pioneers. They are familiar with Ithaca JV as they battled on Monday with Alfred coming out on top 67-61.
