The Alfred State women's basketball team started the game on a 18-2 run and never looked back in a 70-31 victory over Pitt-Titusville. The blue & gold are now 14-7 on the year.
Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) led the team with 18 points and 23 reboundds. Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) add 14 points and seven boards, Briana Meehan (Whitesville) chipped in eight points, and Jackie Lieb (Hornell) came off the bench and had eight points.
Every Lady Pioneer that dressed scored and grabbed a rebound. Helena Covington (Elmira Free) pulled down 10 boards and Destiny Brito (Manhattan/Park West) added nine rebounds as Alfred outrebounded Titusville 75 to 35 on the game.
Erica Long led the Lady Panthers with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Diamond Ware chipped in 10. UPT shot shot 15.9% from the field for the game and was held to just 11 points in the 2nd half.
The Lady Pioneers have over a week off before returning to action on Thursday when they travel to Mercyhurst North East for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off with the Lady Saints.
