Covington Named Athlete of the Week

Sophomore basketball player Helena Covington (Elmira Free) has been named the Alfred State athlete of the week.  Covington helped lead the Lady Pioneers to a perfect 3-0 week.

On the week, Covington scored 41 points (13.7 per game), grabbed 28 rebounds (9.3 per game), and had four steals and four assists.

Covington started the week with 15 points and nine boards in the Lady Pioneers 81-53 victory over Davis College.  She then had 12 points, including the game winner in the final seconds of overtime, and six boards in a 74-73 victory over Erie CC.  Covington wrapped up the week with a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds in a 70-61 victory over SUNY Canton.

On the week she shot 52.9% and was a perfect 5 for 5 from the foul line.
