Team Effort Leads Lady Pioneers Past Pitt-Titusville

The Alfred State women's basketball team got contributions from their entire roster as they defeated Pitt-Titusville 69-41 on Tuesday evening. The Lady Pioneers have won three straight and are now 8-4 on the season.

Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) led three Lady Pioneers in double figures with 15 points while Briana Meehan (Whitesville) finished with 13. Joselyn Johnson (Geneva) came off the bench and finished with 10 points, , Kimberly Levee (Dansville) had six, and Megan Bailey (West Valley) led the team with nine rebounds.

Makayla Newell led Titusville with 15 points and nine rebounds while Tenasia Law finished with 13. Samantha Marak added nine points.

Alfred State trailed 2-0 in the first minute but did not trail again. They led 45-19 at halftime and led by as many as 37. The blue & gold held a 60 to 39 on the boards and forced the Panthers into 16 turnovers.

The Lady Pioneers hit the road this weekend for a Saturday contest at Vaughn College and a Sunday contest at Fisher College.
