Lady Pioneers Continue to Roll

The Alfred State women's basketball team defeated Fisher College (Boston, MA) 98-69 to record their fifth straight victory. The Lady Pioneers are now 10-4 on the season.

The Pioneers offense was led again by Haley Witchella (Oxford). Witchella was 12 for 26 from the field for a game high 29 points. She also grabbed 13 boards, passed out five assists, and was credited with four steals.

Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) added 13 points and Briana Meehan (Whitesville) had 12 points. Off the bench, Steffanie Preston (Groton) and Jackie Lieb (Hornell) each had eight points. 

Murphy Carroll led Fisher with 20 points while Alexis Akridge chipped in 18.

The Lady Pioneers had a 46-35 lead at halftime and expanded the lead throughout the 2nd half. Alfred State held a 62 to 51 rebounding advantage and forced the Falcons into 28 turnovers.

During their five game winning streak, Alfred State has averaged 78.4 points per game.

The blue & gold are back in action on Tuesday when they host Medaille at 5:30 p.m.
