Poor Shooting Costs Lady Pioneers

Alfred State was cold from the field and fell 72-46 to Carlow University on Saturday. The Lady Pioneers shot just 20% from the field in the 1st and finished shooting just 24.4% on the game.

The Celtics led throughout the game building a 13-8 lead after the 1st and a 36-18 lead at half. Carlow led by as many as 29 in the 2nd half.

Breana Gleaton (Waldorf, MD) led the Lady Pioneers with 11 points and six boards while Joselyn Johnson (Geneva) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 boards. Alfred State held a 57 to 51 advantage on the boards (26-12 edge on the offensive glass)

Theresa Fachetti led Carlow with 16 points while Lynzi Mueller had a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. Leah Goodwin added 10 points. The Celtics shot 38.5% from the field and 80.8% (21 for 26) from the foul line.

Alfred State is back in action on Sunday when they host Maine Fort Kent. Opening tip is slated for 1 p.m.
