Lady Pioneers Fly Past Falcons

The Alfred State women's basketball won their second straight with a dominating 77-40 victory over Davis College. Eleven different Lady Pioneers scored and the team distributed 28 assists on the day.

The Lady Pioneers got out to an early lead and never looked back. They led by as many as 42 points and received 48 points off the bench. Points in the paint came early and often as the Alfred State outscored the Falcons 40-12 inside the paint. 

Catherine Bialecki (Almond) led all scorers with 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. Breana Gleaton (Waldorf, MD.) had another strong performance chipping in 13 points, seven rebounds (five offensive) and two assists. Kimberly Levee (Dansville) came off the bench and added 11 points. Minnie Robinson (Washington D.C.) passed out nine of the Lady Pioneers 28 assists on the day.

Davis recieved 12 points and 12 rebounds from Jessi Morgan and 10 points from Jamie Brown. Lynn Toress dished out four assists to lead all Falcons.

Alfred State shot 37.5% from the field for the game connected on 8 of 25 three-point attempts, and held a 67 to 52 advantage on the boards.

The Lady Pioneers will be back in action on Wednesday (1/27) as they travel to Medaille for a 6 p.m. start.
