17 Pioneers Earn USCAA All-Academic Honors

17 Alfred State winter athletes have been named to the USCAA National All-Academic Team after achieving success in the classroom.

Alfred State women's basketball players Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond), Kimberly Levee (Dansville), Minnie Robinson (Washington DC), and Kelly Kane (Wellsville) have been honored by the Association of Division III Independents. Bialecki was a 1st team honoree, Levee was named 2nd team, and Robinson and Kane were named to the 3rd team.

Alfred State sophomore center Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) has been named an ECAC 1st team North All-Star. Bialecki was previously named the USCAA Player of the Year and 1st team All-American.

Alfred State sophomore basketball player Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) and freshmen diver Nick Beach (Canandaigua) have been named the Association of Division III Independents Student-Athletes of the Month for February.
Bialecki Named USCAA Player of the Year

Alfred State sophomore center Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) was named the USCAA Division I Player of the Year last week at the National Championship banquet. On top of being named Player of the Year, Bialecki was a 1st team All-American selection.
Pioneers Wrap Up Season

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) recorded her 16th double-double and Steffanie Preston (Groton) scored a career high 15 points as the Alfred State women's basketball team wrapped up their 2016-17 season in a 75-61 loss to Dean College in a consolation game at the USCAA National Championships.

Pioneers Ready for USCAA Championships

The Alfred State women's basketball team did not have much time to celebrate their ACAA Championship on Sunday as they had to shift their focus to this week's USCAA Championships. The team heads to Penn State Fayette (Uniontown, PA) this evening and begins play on Wednesday.

The Alfred State women's basketball team used a total team effort as they won the ACAA Championships 88-58 over Pine Manor on Sunday afternoon. The Pioneers outscored the Gators in every quarter to improve to 15-9 on the year.

The Alfred State women's basketball team will make their second trip to the USCAA National Championships after earning the #6 seed. The Pioneers will take on the #3 seed Rochester College in the first round.

The Alfred State women's basketball team could not hold a 1st half lead as Maine Presque Isle rallied for a 63-59 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Pioneers close out the regular season with a 14-9 record.
Bench Lifts Pioneers to Big Road Win

The Alfred State women's basketball team got 34 points from their bench as they defeated Maine Fort Kent 59-47. The Pioneers outscored the Bengals 25 to 10 in the 2nd quarter to take the lead for good as they improved to 14-8 on the season.
