Bialecki's Big Night Not Enough as Pioneers Fall at Carlow

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) had a monster night but the Alfred State couldn't overcome Carlow as the Celtics earned a 68-51 victory. The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for the Pioneers who are now 13-8 on the year.

Carlow jumped out to a 23-15 lead after one quarter and led 42-33 at the half. The Celtics outscored the Pioneers 11 to 4 in the 3rd to add to their lead. They led by as many 20 before Alfred State made a comeback and cut it to 10 in the 4th. Carlow was able to answer back and close out the contest.

Bialecki led all scorers with 30 points with 11 rebounds. Kelly Kane (Wellsville) and Minnie Robinson (Washington DC) both finished with five. The Lady Pioneers shot 32.8% from the field on the night.

Emma Stille led the Celtics with 20 points and 19 boards while Reanna Turner added 12. Noelle Vallimont recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Carlow shot 34.8% from the field for the game.

The blue & gold head to Maine this weekend for a pair of games. They battle Maine Fort Kent at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Maine Presque Isle on Sunday at Noon.
