Quartet of Lady Pioneers Honored by A3DI

Alfred State women's basketball players Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond), Kimberly Levee (Dansville), Minnie Robinson (Washington DC), and Kelly Kane (Wellsville) have been honored by the Association of Division III Independents. Bialecki was a 1st team honoree, Levee was named 2nd team, and Robinson and Kane were named to the 3rd team.

Bialecki, a sophomore center, adds the A3DI honor to her impressive postseason haul of honors. Bialecki scored 523 points and grabbed 307 rebounds in 25 games this season. She recorded 15 double-doubles. Previously she has been named USCAA Player of the Year, USCAA 1st team All-American, and 1st team ECAC North.

Levee, a junior guard, was second on the team with 8.6 points per game. She connected on 46 three-pointers (31.7%), grabbed 81 rebounds, passed out 37 assists, and was credited with 17 steals.

Robinson, a senior guard, passed out 115 assists on the season. She averaged 3.3 points per game, grabbed 98 rebounds, and was credited with 46 steals.

Kane, a junior forward, started in all 26 games and averaged 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. She also passed out 60 assists and was credited with 17 steals.

The blue & gold finished the season 15-11, won the ACAA Championship, and qualified for the USCAA Championships for the second time in the last three years.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of 13 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Association provides statistical services for its members in seven sports. In addition, it will announce All-Independent teams at the conclusion of eight other sports this year.
