Pioneers Season Ends in ACAA Semifinal

The Alfred State women's basketball team saw their season come to an end in the ACAA semifinals. Thomas More (KY) used a balanced attack as they improved to 26-0 with a 106-56 victory.

The Saints, ranked #2 in the latest NCAA Division III poll, shot 59.1% in the 1st quarter and raced out to an early lead and never looked back. They had five players finish in double figures and out-rebounded the Pioneers 70 to 27. Madison Temple recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 14 boards, and 10 assists while Emily Schulz was 9 for 9 from the field and had 19.

Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) led the Pioneers with 18 poitns and six assists while Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) finished with 17 points and eight assists. Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) chipped in eight points and 10 boards.

Alfred State finishes the season with a 6-18 overall mark.

Thomas More will play for the ACAA Championships tomorrow afternoon at Noon. They will take on #3 Valley Forge who defeated #2 Finlandia 69-62 in the other semifinal.
